Orange, Cinnamon and Vanilla cake

Hello everyone welcome back to our little blog! Today I will share with you a really tasty recipe that I found out just this week !

The cup measure for this cake will be a tea cup! You will need:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • 4 and a half cups of flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tea spoon of grated orange peel
  • 5 eggs
  • 9 soup spoons of water
  • 4 and a half tea spoons of yeast

Now that you have all this let’s start!

  1. stir the butter and the sugar together until it gets creamy
  2. add the orange peel, juice, water and the egg yolk (from the 5 eggs!)
  3. mix all of this with flour and yeast
  4. in another bowl, beat the egg whites until they are stiff
  5. add the egg whites to the mixture and mix it all up
  6. shed the mixture to a new container, greased with butter and flour, and put the cake in the oven at 200º until it looks tasty enough

Next comes the filling! For this you will need:

  • 2 egg yolks
  • half cup of sugar
  • 1/4 of cornstarch flour
  • 1 and a half cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • half tea spoon of liquid vanilla
  1. stir the butter and sugar together until they get creamy
  2. add the cornstarch flour to the mixture and keep stirring
  3. use half cup of WARM milk on the mixture and stir for 1 minute
  4. cook the mixture with the rest of the milk and stir until it thickens
  5. add the butter and stir even more until it thickens again and add vanilla in the end

Now cut the cake in half and fill it with the filling, it is almost done! After filling the cake we just need to do the frosting! For that you will need:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • half cup of water
  • 3 egg whites
  1. turn the cook on and put the water and sugar in it until they get thick
  2. beat the egg whites until they get stiff and add the water and sugar to the egg whites
  3. mix it really well, the egg and water must be mixed well enought to make a sort of thick condensed milk
  4. lastly cover the cake with the frosting and decorated however you want! I added cinnamon but you could add whatever you like!

Hope you guys enjoyed this amazing recipe and yes you will spend like 3h in the kitchen! Cya next time.
