Hello painters! How are you doing?
Today, we are going to paint your Wednesday with fashion. As a crazy person, but actually not as sassy as us, once said “The joy of dressing is an art” (by John Galliano), we were as artistic as we could be last week. It was Porto’s first fashion night out and your PMY team (us actually, representing the team) went to the event, not only playing it cool and fashionable, but also to inform you and to get the details on Porto’s most trendy night. We know, you’re welcome.
Fashion’s Night Out is a global initiative, sponsored by Vogue. The first event began in 2009 and it was held in New York. Its purpose is to encourage consumers to shop and support the fashion industry during the tough economic climate.
Our edition took place in many streets of Porto, but the hot spot was Passeio dos Clérigos, from 6:30 pm to 23:30 pm. Approximately 25 shops joined the event, making sales of about 15%.
There were lots of music and animation sprinkled with M & M champagne. Other streets have also opened after hours for some sales and more suitable prices, which included: Rua das Carmelitas, Rua dos Clérigos, Rua 31 Janeiro, Rua Galerias Paris, Praça Carlos Alberto, Rua José Falcão, Rua do Almada, Rua Cândidos dos Reis and Largo São Domingos.
This was what we wore. These clothes express our personality, our tastes and the way we see fashion. We did it our way, because fashion represents you as a person and your mind and heart on a piece of fabric. We made that day our fashion show and Porto our huge catwalk, so these are our looks. If you liked them here are some alternative looks to what we wore that evening. With these pieces you can build similar looks by making the same effect and passing the same vibes and fashion paths.
This is it for today! Did you like our night, this event and our style choices? Let us know.
Did you ever go to a similar event? Life is too short to wear boring clothes so take chances, take risks, think outside the box, experiment, be fashion forward and push it.
Fashion is everywhere, on the sky, in the sea, in the street, surrounding people, so breathe it and embrace it. There’s no unfashionable people, we all have it, so find it, explore it and have fun.
See U on saturday and until there be you, be sassy, and, when in doubt, wear yellow (yeah, it’s a reference to our blog’s name, our colour) or wear your best smile, either one will work.
