Detox Day

Hey painters!

This is Paulo & Luísa taking over your saturday again. As promised a couple of posts ago, we are going to do a special detox day just for you. So get your mind set ready for this sugar free, low fat and no gluten day. You’re body is a santuary and you really really need to take care of it. It will completely pay off because your body will thank you by improving your self esteem.

DD – detox day – is here to stay and to make that beautiful body even more special and not only for beachy august days, but a die-for physique for every single day of the week. The word here is detoxify, which means that all day, the goal is to purify our body by eating food that keep us satiated, that correspond to our daily recommended amount of protein, vitamins, minerals, etc. But that keep us a journey to the moon apart of fat, sugar and basically anything that harms our wellbeing and our bodies by contaminating it.

One of the most important ingredient is water – it is the wisest thing ever saying that water is life because 70% of you is water and you don’t wanna lose part of yourself, so drink water – 1/2L a day – and your skin, your hair, your body, every single diet and every single detox day will appreciate.

In this post we will give you a full menu, but remember that is a body friendly one. As a good prestiged menu we are going to have the recipe of a couvert, a main course and a dessert (and guess what, a GUILTY FREE one, yeahhh). But because a DD without a detox juice it’s not a proper detox day, we give you also a liquid solution, even though you can find green juices practically everywhere, we are a DIY kinda blog, so we think that things made by you with love are much more tasty and healthy (we like to think that way!).

Beet, carrot and ginger cold soup

  • Boiled beet
  • Cucumber
  • Carrots
  • Strawberries
  • Pepper mint
  • Olive oil
  • Coconut water
  • Ginger


Chicken salad with quinoa and honey vinaigrette

  • Red quinoa
  • Water
  • Chicken breast
  • Lemon
  • Garlic
  • Black pepper
  • Beet
  • Coriander


Blackberry and yogurt parfait

  • Apple juice
  • Honey
  • Muesli
  • Cinnamon
  • Yogurt
  • Cheese
  • Blackberry
  • Mint


That’s it for today painters. We hope you liked a fit Paulo and Luísa for once. We usually eat TONS of fast food, Portuguese food, candies, ice cream and stuff like that, so once in a while we have the need of a damage control, so we have one of this days from time to time.

Don’t face it as a torture because this delicious dishes are really yummi. Try them, do them and everyone, even you will consider it indulgent food. Those are the fake friends that everybody wants because they look tasty, comfort and fat but, actually, they do wonders for you and your body.

We also want to say something that is really important: DO NOT STOP EATING, because by doing that you are hurting your body so bad. We say yeah to a balanced healthy daily menu, we say no to fat and sugary food and we say BLOODY WELL, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE AND BODY to not eating anything at all.

And you already know this: be you, be sassy, be healthy.
